The following excerpts are from the 1994 FDA meeting about how to determine Lyme vaccines outcomes..The former CDC blood testing standard was to do sequential Western Blots to confirm chronic Lyme. This is Ray Dattwyler arguing that serial Western Blots is the way to correct diagnose Lyme; See page 33 (scroll down). They also state that they sampled spinal fluid and found the Lyme spirochete infected the central nervous system in 2/3 cases where the Lyme rash was present. That means people should be treated upon tick bite. Dattwyler also discusses TREATMENT FAILURE at the meeting and HERE in the 1989 IDSA Reviews Special Supplement on Lyme and Spirochetal Diseases.
